We’ve got another name change for Mystery Lane, book 3. It is now reverting back to 423 Apprehensive Avenue. And that, is the way it will stay! No more changing titles for it. I really like the plot, and it’s on about page 35. It’s sat to the side for the past week though, because… another book jumped out of nothing and into existence, and it’s taking center stage at the moment. Uncertainly Yours is its title, and it’s on chapter 3, page 45. It will soon reach a point where my subconscious mind needs to work on it, and when that happens, I’ll return to Will, Gemma, and Mystery Lane.

Uncertainly Yours begins in August of 2016. It’s a stand-alone, but… twenty-six year old Neil Graham, is in training for his super cool new job as an investigator for the Bannerman Foundation’s missing persons division. Miles and Anika will have guest appearances, and Jack Ryland who is lead investigator for one of the teams–although not Neil’s–will be mentioned more than once. I don’t think he’ll make an appearance though, Jack has a tendency to take over, and this isn’t his book. One of the fun things about this one, is that it takes place in the future. In Miles’ and Anika’s series, it’s currently March of 2016. In Jack’s and Charlotte’s, it’s July of 2016. So this book begins after Jack goes to work for the Bannerman Foundation, and the missing persons division is well on it’s way to being up and running. It’s a good thing, too, because there have been a number of abductions in the surrounding areas, and the need is great and becoming greater. This book will shed some hefty clues as to the overall mystery surrounding the HOB series, and Jack’s series. Failure to Engage and Lochlan Museum do as well, but not to the extent of Uncertainly Yours. It will be tricky writing a stand-alone that gives clues to the larger mystery, yet doesn’t feel incomplete. But, not any harder than it was to write the rest of the books that have done the same thing. After Uncertainly Yours, the reader will have information that Miles and Anika have yet to access in their series. Jack’s, too. I believe this will add to, rather than detract from, the overall mystery that will reach critical mass in December of 2016. There are many other books to write between now and then, however.
