Now in the works is Uncertainly Yours, which is a Bannerman Foundation mystery. This book takes place in the fall of 2017, so it postdates the next two or three House of Bannerman books, and Jack Ryland’s third and perhaps fourth. It’s currently on page 282, because I had a lot of it written before I set it aside so I could focus on finishing the third Mystery Lane. But now Uncertainly Yours is back in the forefront. I wish I could say it’s nearly finished, but it isn’t. I can’t very well estimate the eventual page count, but I’m (almost) sure it’s more than halfway complete.
Miles and Anika have a major role in this book, although they aren’t the main characters. Neil and Penny are, and I find it interesting to see Miles and Anika through their eyes. At the end of their current week they’re heading to Glen Haven to have dinner with Anika’s family, so that will be fun. But first, Neil and Penny have some investigating to do. At this moment I’m gearing up to write that part, meaning I’m watching as the location they’re about to search materializes. Once it does, I’ll be able to describe it and what happens there.
Life hasn’t exactly slowed down, but we have an additional diagnosis for Emily, which explains a lot of what she deals with. I have her permission to say this, otherwise I wouldn’t be. It’s called disautonomia, and while it’s not good news, at least it’s an explanation for the constant vertigo, exhaustion, irregular heartbeat, blacking out, depression, etc. I say etc., because right now I can’t remember the rest. Suffice to say, it makes her life pretty difficult. But she has doctors now that understand it. Not that there’s a cure. But we’re better off than we were, and it’s a huge comfort to know that God is right there to walk us through this, if He doesn’t see it’s in our best interest to lift her right out of it. He’ll use every difficulty to mold each of us into the image of Jesus, and that’s what it’s all about anyway.
I’ve got people wanting fed, so I’m off to cook dinner. I also have the mental image of where Neil and Penny are about to search, so I hope I don’t end up burning anything! It wouldn’t be the first time.
Happy reading!
