It’s been about three months. Three very long months, in many ways. I won’t get into that now, because I’m currently two chapters away from completing Uncertainly Yours. It’s a long time in coming, but at last, it’s almost there. At the moment the page count is 579. It’ll hit 600, without a doubt. I believe that will make it my longest book. It’s been tedious writing it at times, because it takes place in fall of 2017, and Miles and Anika are still in the early spring of 2016. Jack and Charlotte are at the end of summer, 2016. Both of their series are heavily affected by everything in this book, as is a future HOB book that’s half-written. So it has to be exactly right, as it’s locking certain circumstances, events, etc, in stone. I can’t get it wrong, because I can’t go back and change something after it’s published, just because it’s inconvenient and I’d rather go a different route earlier in the timeline. Life has also been extremely hard, which has everything to do with why it’s taken so long to get this close to the finish line. I’ve mentioned Emily’s health before, but with very little detail. That has made it difficult to write blog posts, as I’m constantly having to backspace for the sake of privacy. But, she is very open about her battles, and has given me permission to do the same. I won’t do that now, as I’m anxious to get Uncertainly finished, but at a later date I will do so. Maybe then, I’ll post more often!
In the meantime, here’s a picture of the dogs. They’re lined up waiting for treats, and rather put-out that I insisted they wait to be photographed first. As you can see, Artic’s ears are standing tall, his white German shepherd is clearly showing, and he’s determined to catch up to Indy’s size as rapidly as he can. Pandy is no more a fan than she ever was, and Star works diligently to find new ways to tempt him to get into trouble. She does it so very innocently, one almost wonders if she’s doing it at all. The answer is yes. She is. The poor pup is fortunate Indy took him on, and assumed the role of big brother. He sorely needed one!
I’m off to finish, or at least get closer to finishing, Uncertainly Yours. In the meantime, happy reading! Once it’s out, then it’s bound to be even happier.
