Jack and Charlotte just arrived at the Bannerman Foundation headquarters, and are minutes away from Jack’s official interview. A change in scene requires a step back to regroup and gear up in general, but even more so before jumping into Miles and Anika’s entrance into this story. Apart from the current chapter and possibly a scene at the end, they won’t be participating further. They’ve got their own business to tend to, which will appear in one of their upcoming books. So after assigning Jack’s first case, they will graciously bow out and leave the spotlight to him. It’s just as well, since Jack is already struggling after seeing Miles’ photos, which he’s hoping were photoshopped. Because otherwise, Miles just might be better looking than he is! Miles surely isn’t as intelligent though, that would just be too unfair. No matter what, Jack has the wisdom of age on his side. There is that consolation.
Poor Jack! Fortunately for him, Miles is fully confident in himself, and has nothing to prove. He’s also perceptive, and kind. Jack will survive their first meeting, despite the shock to his system, and… come away stunned, confused, and very nearly mad with curiosity. But that, will all be thanks to Anika. This will be very fun to watch as it plays out, and I write it down. No lattes will be required to stay awake until the end!
If you haven’t begun “Ashes of Roses”, there’s no time like the present. For those who have, happy reading! And now I’m going to get back to writing.
Oh my goodness!! The new book was wonderful and Trixie is quite talented. Looking forward to more books but understand your need for a break. Great Job!!
Isn’t she, though! I look forward to seeing just how special Trixie’s service dog pups are, when it comes time to write their book. It might come after Jack’s, I haven’t quite decided.
I’m so glad you enjoyed “Ashes of Roses”! Thanks for writing, it’s always nice to hear.
