I know where they are, actually. Commerce City, CO. A mere thirty minute drive from my house. I look out the window and see bright blue sky, and only a few puffy clouds. Yet UPS declares that inclement weather in Commerce City prevents my package from being delivered today.
Sunny skies equal inclement weather? Then what doesn’t? The same thing happened last week. I was waiting for the proof for the paperback version of “The Lodge at Whispering Pines” to arrive, and waited an extra day because that pesky clear weather prevented the UPS people from loading my package onto the truck.
Out of curiosity I emailed UPS to inquire what the deal is with this whole “inclement weather” thing that’s happened two sunny weeks in a row. We’ll see if I hear anything back. I expect they’ll declare the weather is just terrible here. You know that blue sky, it’s the scourge of delivery people everywhere…
