Halfway through making a latte I discovered the milk was bad. That was no dream, it was a nightmare!
I was relieved when I woke to find that the milk was not bad after all. Not only that, the Walmart grocery delivery truck came later that morning and brought a fresh gallon. They also brought pumpkin spice extract, which I forgot all about ordering. That was a nice surprise. I do love pumpkin spice lattes, but every syrup I’ve tried has a preservative taste and I can’t stand that. Using the stuff is a good way to ruin an otherwise excellent latte. So I tried a couple of drops of the extract, and I’m pleased with the result. Coconut is awesome too, and probably my favorite thus far. I’ll be experimenting with other extract flavors in the future. This opens up a whole new world of latte flavor possibilities.
So yesterday, reality scored 1 and dream 0.
Sometimes my characters are in my dreams, though. Those are better than reality. We’re always gathering clues to solve a mystery of some kind. If only I could remember the details after I wake up, I’d write about it! But it’s the coolest thing to actually talk to and interact with my characters.
That just might be enough incentive to convince me to lay off the lattes and get more sleep. But for now, I’ve got Untitled coming along nicely at 62 pages. It’s taken most of my attention lately, but HOB 5 and HOB… not sure where this book will fit in, could be 8, could be 10, anyway, both of them have received new pages today.
Speaking of new pages, fueled by my pumpkin spice latte and inspiration, I’m going to get back to writing!
