Homeschool is going well. Really well. I’m completely impressed with Bridgeway Academy’s online program. Em actually said… the math lessons are fun. That’s awesome. She’s learning and getting caught up, and that–is worth every penny.
During her breaks, we color in our journaling bibles. We’ve both got the NLT bibles with pictures already drawn. That’s way more fun for struggling perfectionists (struggling to overcome the burden of perfectionism) than drawing our own pictures. It doesn’t take a lot of thought, and allows for conversation. That, is priceless.
What’s disturbing, is being tricked into watching a horrible show on You-tube, called “Charlie the Unicorn.” That is one weird show, and I don’t recommend it! I’ve got this horrible Millipede song stuck in my head now. It’s a show about these two completely awful unicorns, pestering Charlie the unicorn into going along with them. Brad watched with her when he got home, and we both agree whoever wrote the thing, must’ve been tripping on something. The thing is… Em said that it reminds her of her, and her Dad. She’s horrible about wearing him down, and he’s horrible about letting her. She equated Candy Mountain in the show, with Starbucks (considering Charlie lost a kidney in that episode, well, that’s concerning). Em and Brad play that Pokemon GO game, and she pesters him and won’t take no for an answer until he follows her into Starbucks for frappuccinos. She said if she had a sibling, they’d be like those two unicorns. For the first time, ever, I’m thankful she’s an only child.
Jack and Charlotte haven’t made it to the end of the book yet, but they’re currently on page 260, and getting there. It’s a good thing. I read the first 150 pages of “Failure to Engage” to Brad over the weekend, and he wants to hear the rest. So do I, but I have to write it first! And before I do that, Jack and Charlotte need their second book finished.
In that spirit, happy reading… and I’m going to see how many pages I can get written before morning.
