That’s really all I have to say, because “Failure to Engage” has taken off, and the end is in sight! I am so excited by this, because it has been a difficult book to write. I love the characters, I love their story, but I’ve also felt tremendous pressure to do justice to the theme of salvation that runs throughout it. When reading novels in the past, I can’t say I’ve been impressed with the way salvation is presented. Ninty-nine point nine times out of a hundred, that part seems flat, staged, and preachy. Usually I think, if I wasn’t already a believer, I’d wonder what in the world the characters are talking about. Sometimes, in spite of being a believer, I’ve still wondered what in the world they were talking about! This has bugged me to the point I didn’t want to go near the subject.

And then, Justin met Laney. I’ll say no more at the moment, but that reminds me I need to figure out how to put this book in a nutshell so I can write the back-of-the-book trailer. Ug. Writing a book is far easier!

And finishing a book feels awesome, so I’m going to get back to it, and get it done!
