Two-hundred and fifty pages. That’s where Lochlan Museum now stands. The end is in sight, and I’m sure everyone in the household is thankful for that. I promised I will clean the house once it’s done, and before starting another book. Or, getting back to the other one that’s half-written. This guarantees it’ll be the fastest cleaning job in the world! But I know my limitations. If there’s a book-in-progress, I don’t seem to have the will-power to set it aside for something as temporarily satisfying as cleaning the house. It’s only temporarily satisfying, because it’s so temporary. If I could clean it and keep it clean, well, that might be another matter. But, the other residents of the house don’t see the wisdom of putting away… anything. Or cleaning up… anything. Although, every few years, Brad does go through like a whirlwind and throws things away indiscriminately. I’m not crazy about that. I’m not the only one who’s fortunate he doesn’t do it more often.
I have yet to write the back-of-the-book for Lochlan. But here’s the question facing Claire Davis… why would someone break into the local Goodwill of the small town of Juniper Creek, and destroy the merchandise? Why, indeed?
This is a stand-alone book. It does, however, link to Failure to Engage, Jack Ryland’s series, and books 4 and 5 in the House of Bannerman series. It’s not necessary to read the others in order for this one to be complete, but, each contains puzzle pieces to a mystery that will be fully revealed and an evil that will take the characters from two different series to overcome. I wish I could write faster, because I’d really like to get to that point. It’s going to be very exciting! But, I’m not rushing it. There are a lot of books to write between now and then.
None of them will get written if I don’t finish writing Lochlan. Neither will the house be clean ever again, because just as I promised to clean it after this book is finished… that’s as good as a promise not to clean it until then. So it’s back to writing for me.
Happy reading!
