There’s been a complete plot change for Mystery Lane book 3, so the title may undergo change, as well. If it does… and I’m kind of thinking it will… then 423 Apprehensive Avenue will be book 4, or 5. Book 4 or 5, will also have book 3’s original plot. There was nothing wrong with […]

A New Beginning
There are benefits even to the flu, or can be, I suppose I should say. When Em was a year old, she and I were both sicker than we’ve ever been in either of our lives, and Brad meanwhile, was in the hospital thanks to a stroke. I still don’t see the benefit of any […]
Complete, at 475 pages!
Disengaged is finished! To visit the Amazon page, or to pre-order, click here… I’m so glad to be finished, for so many reasons. First off, this is my seventeenth book! That’s kind of exciting. 423 Apprehensive Avenue, Mystery Lane book 3, is next. That, too, is exciting! I can’t believe how long its been since […]
400 pages!
That’s where Disengaged is at present, and the count is rising. So is the suspense, so I’m going to declare this the shortest blog post I’ve ever written, and get back to writing!
In the final stretch!
Disengaged is moving right along, so I’m cautiously optimistic that it’ll be complete soon. Rob and Samantha just finished a particularly intense part of their story, and I think we’re all glad to have a moment’s break. A fast-paced, suspenseful, action-packed series of events is about to begin, and I need to catch my breath […]
Rain, rain… Go Away!
I’m not a fan of the tornado warnings, either. They’ve been constant since Friday night. At first we gave them heed, but at this point I’d say we’re rather jaded. As Em put it, if I hear one coming, then I’ll go hide in the closet. Until then, forget it. The cats weren’t pleased to […]
Preparing for a Hurricane
This is a new experience for me. We’ve lived in the Houston area for a year and a half, and have yet to face a hurricane. Since Hurricane Harvey is headed our way, and expected to hit tomorrow, then that may change. Or, it may not. It’s expected to, though. I first heard of this […]
Back to School, Back to Writing!
This morning, Em started back to school. There’s a peculiar new zoning system in place for the bus, and we’re within a one mile radius of her school… so although it’s a much further walk than that, considering she is not a crow and she does not fly, the bus is no longer an option. […]
Live and Learn
This week, several lessons were learned. First, red hair color goes on a lot easier than it comes out. Second, coloring over it is a theory that has now been proven false. Third, the best way to save money is not to first do a thing oneself, try to fix that thing, and then finally […]
Rainy Days, and Disengaged
Overcast skies and rainy days always put me in the mood to read, when I was young. Now, they put me in the mood to write. Not that I need much encouragement in that regard, but today supplied the perfect creative atmosphere. Disengaged has exceeded 101,000 words, and is on page 286. A brief description […]
