Em had her second archery lesson yesterday. This is something she’s been wanting to do for quite a while, and I’m glad life has settled down to the point she can take a class and have some hope of not missing any. Her class starts next month, so for now she’s taking private lessons to better prepare her.
The instructor said she has a natural talent for it. It requires processing skills to excel at archery because each move must be in exactly the right order and exactly the same every time to achieve consistent results. That’s what she does, and he’s very impressed with her progress. It was pretty amazing watching her (which I did instead of write, my laptop sat in front of me very much ignored). The control she had over the placement of the arrow in the target was impressive. Imagine what she’ll be able to with more lessons, and practice!
She’s neither right or left eye dominant, so she aims with both eyes open. How cool is that. I didn’t even know it was possible!
601 Suspense Street is at 165 pages and moving right along. I hope to have it available for pre-order by the time The Lodge at Whispering Pines is released August 14th.
If I’m going to accomplish that I need to get back to work! So I’m off to make another latte, and then it’s back to writing for me…
