Anika just pointed out that that isn’t the truth. It hasn’t been any longer than any other month with the same number of days. So let me rephrase that. It feels like it’s been a long month–no, it feels like it’s been far too short for everything that’s been packed into it, is more like it. But that’s an awfully long blog title, so the original still stands.

Em is done with school. That’s cause for celebration! We’re both severely relieved to have a break. We won’t start back until the very end of August, because we need at least that long to recharge. This year has been difficult, but she’s doing well, much better than she was in public school. True, we did stretch the school year into the summer, but there was no actual summer school involved. We’re homeschooling again this next year too, and after that… we’ll see. We’re taking it a year at a time.

Disengaged is coming along, and when it is done… the next book, will be 423 Apprehensive Avenue.

Yes, you read right–if you read that the next book will be 423 Apprehensive Avenue, which is soon (a girl can dream, anyway) to be the 3rd in the Mystery Lane series. I do plan to finish Disengaged first… probably. And then, I’ll absolutely have to re-read books 1 and 2, in order to re-acquaint myself with the characters. When I’m done, book 3 will truly begin. It has begun, in that the file titled 423 Apprehensive Avenue is filled with notes. But when all of that is said and done, or at least done, then book 3 will be written.

Tonight Brad’s men’s group meets at church, and my women’s group doesn’t, so I’ll have at least a couple of hours to write! But for now, I need to go make the man dinner. And the girl. I’m about to give up on ever satisfying these people, they want fed everyday. More than once!

Happy reading!
