And yes, it is. This summer is flying by as quickly as the spring.

We’ve been super busy around here. It took three months, but we found a church we’re excited to be a part of, and that’s major. We’ve decided to homeschool next year, which is also major. I’ve been attending a bible study by Priscilla Shirer called The Armor of God, and WOW that is amazing. It’s changed my prayer life completely, and the changes that have resulted in our family, are unbelievable. I can’t recommend this bible study enough.

Jack Ryland’s second book is coming along. It is, in fact, more than a third of the way on its way to completion. Reaching that 100 page milestone always gives me a thrill. Reaching 200 is even better, and so is that 300 mark. In the case of “Terms of Engagement,” I reached 400 and wondered if it would ever end. That’s what comes of having four main characters. “Failure to Engage” has two main characters, but two mysteries. So… I know it’s going to go long. That’s why it’s on the sideline for now. My subconscious mind needs to stew on some things too, which it’s free to do if my conscious mind is busy writing Jack’s book instead.

Have you ever wondered when Jenny and Xander finally became a couple? During “House of Shadows” obviously, but what about the details? What was up with that relationship, anyway? Anika sure wondered, and wanted to push things along. Miles convinced her to leave them alone, and she did, and… then they were dating.

Well, I’ve wondered. Eventually we’ll find out, because Jenny and Xander are getting their own book. Time-wise, it will run concurrent with “House of Shadows.” There’ll be a mystery involved, but low-key compared to the mystery overwhelming Miles and Anika at the time. It’ll be a fun book, and I look forward to watching it unfold. I look forward to seeing Miles and Anika through the eyes of their best friends, too.

But, when this book will get written, I’m not sure. I’ve got so many files waiting for attention it’s overwhelming. I never worry I’ll run out of ideas. Ever. What I’m afraid I’ll run out of, is time.

Speaking of which, it’s time to get back to Jack!  Happy reading!
