Jack’s new book, Cottonwood Hotel, is now at a respectable 233 pages. He and Charlotte are so close to the end of this mystery, but they’re also worn out and have nothing to say at the moment. Understandable, considering all they’ve been through.
So, they’re getting a small break. Because I have no choice.
I’m tempted to start “Lochlan Museum.” I’ve got so many pages of notes, it’s practically written. But then I remember “Failure to Engage,” and can hardly wait to get back to it! “Failure” is over 150 pages, and when I read over the last chapter recently, I was kind of upset when I reached the end. I want to know what happens next! Because I have no idea! Experiencing the mystery along with the characters is one of the fun parts about writing. When I’m in a reading mood though, and get caught up in the story and reach the end of what’s been recorded… it’s worse than getting to the end of a book, and finding out the ending is a to-be-continued. I always feel cheated when an author does that. I never will. Although, there’s a common thread that’s beginning to appear throughout the books, starting with “The Lodge at Whispering Pines.” If you haven’t discovered it yet, you will. Or, not. I’m not talking humor, romance, or main characters who are at varying levels of maturity in their Christian faith. Nope, I’m talking about something else. Something evil that will take the main characters of more than one series, and more than one book, to overcome.
Curious, yet? I know I am.
Happy reading, and now I’m off to wake up Jack and Charlotte!
