“Disengaged,” third in the Terms of Engagement series, is on page 25. “Lochlan Museum” is… on page 1 1/2. Once “Disengaged” stalls out–assuming it does–then I’ll get back to Lochlan. I’ve got so many pages of notes written on Lochlan, I feel like I already know the characters completely. It feels as though their story is already written. But it isn’t. It’s noted. So I will get back to it. The characters will probably take over, throw a wrench in my carefully crafted notes, and then it’ll get interesting.
Don’t expect to see much of Evan and Patrice in “Failure to Engage,” or “Disengaged.” Their roles in each of these books is very minor. Evan and Patrice will star in their own again, at some point. Lina and Casey will make appearances here and there in this series, but they moved to Eerie and are renting Will’s house. “Mystery Lane” will have to catch up with them though. It takes place in the spring and summer of 2015, and “Terms of Engagement” isn’t until the following spring. Lina and Casey move there that summer, after he graduates.
That’s all I have time for now, because “Disengaged” is about to burn a hole in my brain and I need to get back to it. Erik, one of the main characters (there are four, like “Terms”) is becoming highly suspicious about something highly suspicious, and I want to see how the rest of his phone conversation goes. His brother, Rob, is about to walk in on something highly dangerous, so I’m curious about what’ll happen with that, too. The other mains are sisters Samantha and Amber. And how did I forget about Caleb? He’s very important too.
Happy reading, and I’m going to go find out what happens next…
