Book 1 is done, and in the hands of my proofreaders! I’ve enjoyed writing this book tremendously, and I’m anxious to get book 2 underway. But, I’ve got “Depart the Darkness,” HOB book 5, to finish first. I’m looking forward to that, too. And, to starting the museum book, which will have a title when the museum gets a name. “423 Apprehensive Avenue,” book 3 in the Mystery Lane series, is also waiting to be written, along with two more HOB books. Not that the HOB series is coming to an end at that point. Perish the thought!
“Hiding Treasure” comes out this Friday, the 18th. I love the characters of Alex and Tressa, and Herman–just wait until you meet him! He’s awesome. You’ll have to get about halfway through the book for that, though. At some point you’ll also meet Jack Ryland, the main character in “Last Chance Inn.”
It feels good to be finished with “Last Chance Inn,” especially since it’s out for pre-order. I feel more relaxed about the holidays and taking time away from writing. I’m not sure how I feel about braving the snow in pursuit of two hamsters tomorrow, though. That’s all Em wants for Christmas, and I’d rather have them in their cage before she’s home for the holidays. She’s going to wonder though, when she finds holes in the top of the box that I told her under no circumstances to pick up and shake. That’s because the box has no bottom, so that the cage it conceals can be easily accessed for the purpose of depositing hamsters, and feeding them between their arrival and Christmas Day. She’ll wonder if there’s scratching and running around inside the box, too. And I’ll wonder if there isn’t! There better be!
Happy reading everyone, and now… I might cook dinner for a change.
And then it’s on to “Depart the Darkness!” Maybe I’ll just skip dinner, and go straight to writing. After all, I did feed these people yesterday.
